Remember, this is a self-published title without any particular marketing behind it and I’m a first-time author. Pretty good considering that, I think.

It’s been ranked as high as 3,055 out of all 400,000 or so books currently available on Amazon for the kindle.

In the category of Kindle Children’s books for ages Baby-3 I’ve been ranking #1 every time I check it lately. 

I sold approximately 100 copies in November, 240 in December, and 100 as of today in January (today’s the 8th).

I’ve already sold over 800 copies just for the kindle since I set it up in May.

Anyhow, I just though I’d brag.

Dear Editor:

The Squishy, Stinky Diaper, is a sweet story about a baby getting her diaper changed.  It appeals to children ages one to three and even up through age five for children with baby siblings.  It contains 220 words and 17 illustrations.

Although diaper changing is a daily activity for all young children, no other book currently available covers this topic like I do.  There are many goodbye-to-diapers stories and what-to-expect-with-the-new-baby books, but there aren’t any approaching it as merely an entertaining story.  To me, this seems like quite an oversight.  After all, so many silly things happen with a squirmy baby on a changing table!

I was referred to your publishing company by Mrs. Susan Wigden, an author published under Tidewater in 2005.  She liked my book and thought you might be interested in it.  She said you were particularly interested in author/illustrators.

This is my first book, which I both wrote and illustrated. I self-published a kindle version through Amazon which has already sold over 500 copies since May of this year.

Amazon has a similar service for their kindle that I have used with great success. I’m hoping for similar results with PubIt.

The mystery is when it’s coming out, though. I first heard about it this spring. It was supposed to open sometime in the Summer of 2010. But now the kids are in school, Labor Day has passed, and still no PubIt.  The FAQ page still says it’ll be out in the summer, though.  So…soon…?

I wonder what the delay is.
